Wondering if the same rules apply as they do to hdmi extenders.

Specifically, I'd like to terminate (at the receiving end) to a keystone jack (pass thru) and then a short jumper from front of keystone jack into the the HDBaseT extender, then of course short HDMI cable to tv.

Prewire coming up where i'd like to go this route, but not if there would be issues. Haven't used any HDBaseT yet.
Thanks

Check with your HDBT extender manufacturer to confirm, but most state that they will work through two connections (wall plate and patch cable at each end).

I have found the same to be true. I used Snaps and in the manual it states that it can be used through a keystone jack.

I've tested HDBT through a bunch of couplers and keystones with no issue.

Whose did you use?
I don't think any balun is guaranteed when dealing with HDMI.
My first (and only so far with HDbaseT) went smooth. I checked here on RC and decided to use Zektor's. I couldn't pass them up, Jeff said he'd give me my money back if I didn't like it.
I had tried other HDMI baluns (Niles and Snap) and had some issues so I this time I went with HDBaseT went with what I thought was the best choice.

We have an Ethereal HDBaseT system working perfectly as follows:

1080P Source -> HDMI -> 1x2 HDMI Splitter -> HDMI -> TX -> CAT6 -> Keystone-> ~75' CAT6 -> Keystone -> CAT6 -> RX -> HDMI -> Display Showing 1080P

Did I miss anything in that jumbled mess to test out the abilities of HDBaseT?

I don't think so :-)

Have been using Atlona AT-HD4-V110SR for about a year: 6'-10' patch cable -> keystone jack -> 50'-100' cat5e/6 -> keystone jack -> 3' patch cable. This is really the first year that I've liked HDMI.

Zektor and Ethereal for now on, no questions asked.
