I worked for a car dealer for a brief period about 13 years ago. This was between jobs during a tough market. I hated the job. I couldn't stand the pressure to RUN out there the second a car drives up. Give people a minute to get out of their car before you pounce on them.
Anyway, the dealer changed management while I was there. The new management changed all the payment structures and put 10 times the pressure on you to sell. You had to literally sell about 10 times the amount of cars to make the same money with the old management.
Shortly after the change, we needed to get a car with some size. They had a used station wagon that was perfect for what we needed. So I asked about it and was able to work out a deal to get the car for about what they took it in as a trade. We financed it. Sat down in the morning, did all the paperwork and signed for it. After signing, we went out to the car and manager comes out and says as I am getting in the car, "Aren't you working today?"
I just looked at him and said, "oh yeah, I quit."
I just faintly heard him cursing me and yelling "we gave you that F%Y#^ car for nothing" as I drove off :-D
Priceless! Suckers! That should be in a movie!
