After 20 minutes attempting to SYNC RF dimmers to a KP-900, I programmed a 2nd KP-900 from the truck. Still nothing.

-I call URC tech support - "Looks like everything is right" says support tech.
-Tried a proven lamp dimmer. Nothing.
-Tried two newly installed dimmers in garage. Nothing.
-Created a new file from scratch, reset device, downloaded a simple 1-device file. Nothing. Again, won't sync to the remote.

Finally I grab a MX-780 from the truck to be sure I'm not missing something. Program a file in 2 minutes, works fine in 15 seconds.

Anybody know what the deal is with the KP-900 in C.C.P.? Tech support offered no insight.

Im guessing that you made sure that the kp900 wasn't an "i" version?

Yes. The setup was identical to the successful MX-780 connection.

I'm using a KP-900i with a pair of "B" series lamp dimmers at home with no problem.

I have 3 or 4 900s in stock @ $50 if you would like to test some others... ;)

The control with great promise that didn't make it. Battery life issues. One client uses his all the time and complains about it. Other one... whenever I go to their house, it's always dead and I change the batteries for them.
There is no truth anymore. Only assertions. The internet world has no interest in truth, only vindication for preconceived assumptions.

I have one for my patio and one for my detached shop that went through the battery's pretty regular with or without use.

I finally set the display to go out,not just the light, after 10 seconds and now get around 5 months on a set.

As for the use of the URC dimmers,I've never tried it.
Every day is a good day.......some are just better than others!
