I was wondering what everyone thought about field terminating hdmi cables. i know that liberty cable sells the kit with the cable the ends and the tools but was wondering if anyone has ever tried them. Also if there any other companies that make this kind of thing and how well does any of this even work. We use baluns right now but this might be more cost effective. also we seem to have bad luck with hdmi baluns and i know a lot of other companies also have problems with hdmi baluns
thanks

Do you think you will have better luck with field termination cables? Holy Service call!!!

Have you used HDbaseT? my first experience was poor but i have tried a few others and they work!!!

How long are you wanting to run them? What baluns are you using that you are having problems with?

We've used Zektor and Atlona HDBaseT with no problems what so ever. IN the past, I've used the Niles baluns without issues for short runs.

If you choose the right balun you won't have as many problems. I have not personally tried field terminating HDMI solutions but I have heard from plenty of people that they have inherent problems. Not the least of which is a 25-30 ft limitation if I remember correctly.
