With me it starts as soon as I here an English name from a very obvious non English person. If you have to have your people lie about there names the only place you can go is down. I'm waiting to eliminate TV all together for what I watch and what I pay there is a huge disconnect. U-Verse HD box interface sucks and the internet is so slow and lags all the time.

in an Indian accent:   "Thank you for being on hold, this is Paul, how may I help you?"

I got that one from a verizon tech support call once, I nearly pissed myself laughing.

But de-regulation of the communication industries was such a good idea, and a good deal for Corporate(Co-parasite) America!
I came into this game for the action, the excitement. Go anywhere, travel light, get in, get out, wherever there's AV trouble, a man alone.

Haven't you heard? Regulation stifles innovation...

use american express and you should have no problem. I have called to stop payment or dispute charges a few times and they have always taken my side.

Complaining about Comcast/Directv/Dish/Sirius/HDMI is futile. It's not going away, it's not likely to change. You need to figure out how to work with it.

That being said, here's a handy directory of all the contact info you need for who's pissing you off.

Have to love the post by Archibald "Harry" Tuttle and 39 Cent Stamp. Poor pitiful us. No one is holding a gun to our heads to subscribe to these services. We choose to accept bad customer service in lieu of not having the service at all. If and when we decide to stop putting up with this BS and are willing to drop them nothing will change.

There is a glimmer of hope. In the land of Florida, there are a lot of gated communities. A small, local cable competitor took over a community that was only serviced by the unchallenged monopoly. Though the On-demand is weaker than that of Comcrap, it gives me hope that another company can anti up.

Every person I've ever talked to, hates Comcast. Glory days by the incompetent don't last forever.

urggh... There is at least one community development in my area in I've known of.  You have to call for permission and assistance if you decide to bridge a modem, open pin hole for port forwarding.  Sole service on Internet/cable TV wise.  Strictly VOiP, no POT.  Of course, monopoly burglar alarm.

Talking about night mares everytime trying to talk to their tech support department...

You're ahead of me on this. So much for the glimmer of hope.

This is what I'm waiting for: [Link: fiber.google.com]

Hopefully it's highly successful in the KC area so they start pushing into other regions. Perhaps just the threat of competition from Google may light a fire under the collective butts of current provider monopolies.

We have no choice. The other (ONLY) option (DSL) is worse.

It won't change anything. Cable as phone companies will contact lawyers and politicians to try and stop it while google gobbles up market share. Monopoly corporations haven't had to compete in a very long time. DirecTV taught them that we don't need their wires. Once google fiber shows up their days are numbered.
