What I just realized is that typically, someone wins all this money, and a lucky CI gets to,install someone's dream system with little regard to budget. Matt gets better pricing than all of us I would guess, and doesn't need an installer.

You should hire your least favorite installation firm and call them at all hours of the night just to be a dick :)

When I try to set up Audyssey, I get an "attach external mike" error. Who's Mike?

What's the code to display "HELL YEAH!" When the client presses the programmed Powerball button?

I've always been very impressed with Matt because he seems to be a great guy and works hard! Congrats!! I'm a little pissed however! Not because he won but there is no chance of me winning ever! How many people, who have won the lottery, ever know another person who has won the lottery.

Yep. I was just thinking this today. Hopefully lightening strikes twice...and hits me :).

Congrats Matt. Treat yourself to something ridiculous in the way of AV/Home Theater and post here so we can all drool over it :).

Wow! It's almost surreal!

But it's probably going to be a bit of a nightmare for a while for Matt... people are going to be coming out of the woodwork. I wish him the best, and hope he actually gets to enjoy it! :-)

So awesome and it couldn't have happened to a better guy. I'm sure you'll never read this Matt but in case you do I want to say Thank You.
You've been a friend in the business and a step in my success. I wish you the best of everything. You will be missed.

Congrats, Matt. Nice to see one of ours amongst the incredible rare money-winning statistics!

Best of luck. Get down in writing the world view you had last month to use as a guide in navigating the demands that will come, that must come. See most of the previous posts, though all in jest, for what I'm talking about.

Exactly my sentiment.

I didn't want to comment publicly on the issue because I am sure, as Daniel mentioned, he has a lot to deal with right now and doesn't need the additional attention. Since its out there, I'll add my .02 cents.

Once the dust settles and the attention fades, he will be the same guy, just with enough money to buy some really cool stuff and spend quality time with his family.

He traveled so much for work, its almost like he is being payed back for his efforts and time away from family. I hope (for my sake), he finds a way to stay involved with Denon or somehow connected to the industry. He was a great resource and a good guy. For his sake, I hope he takes some time off (as in disappear) to evaluate and enjoy the time with his family.

So stinking stoked for you Matt! That should buy you a lifetime supply of cliff bars!

Congratulations to you Matt - always a great help on here.

If only you'd won enough money to fix HDMI!

Good luck, Matt. I've often wondered what I would do if this sort of financial windfall occured; I think about hiring a lawyer, and an accountant, and getting a new phone number, and setting up some sort of foundation mechanism to deal with the influx of "friends" and good causes that surely would occur.
