I just got one for my personal use and am trying to get an IR emitter inside but can't figure out how to get the front off. Got the sides off but can't see how to gen the next step off.

Thanks,

Kurt

So the top and sides are not one wide U-shaped piece? Intriguing. Look for sets of screws, perhaps that might hold the top on; the top might do a "Tab A into Slot B" kind of thing to hold the front panel in place.
A good answer is easier with a clear question giving the make and model of everything.

Just glue it on the front that way in 91 days when it quits 1 day out of warranty, it easy to put in another one.

I was surprise to find an IR in jack on a 790 I put in last week. It's twice the $ but may be worth it.

It's still going to die in 91 days.

Wow. Never had one die and sold this series all the time. Had one not connect with ethernet port on back and that has been it.

We only do BDPS too and never had one issue. Power cycles have been the biggest service call. We do the 790 for that IR input on the back.

All of the BD's I sell other than Integra a complete junk. Sony's, LG's and Samsung. They do good to last a year. It's not worth my time for a client to buy one from me unless it is an Integra.

Agreed. Does all of that crap REALLY need to be there?!?! This is one of the main reasons I refuse to allow them to use a DVD player for anything other than a DVD player...and why I seek to install a DVD player that is just that with no streaming and other B.S. on it. I like Denon players because you aren't stuck in their GUI when trying to watch a DVD; most ppl don't even know the player has those other functions...shhh I'm not telling :-)

More off topic since nobody really cares about the "rigors" of burying an emitter in a DVD player anymore :-)

Who makes a nice DVD player w/o streaming content these days in the 300-500 dollar range?

i dont mind all the streaming crap, they can use it if they want to (most dont). but, if they do, you have to register and sign into the sony crap to select the crap that you want to sign into.

Maybe with an s-video connector, too? ;)
There is no truth anymore. Only assertions. The internet world has no interest in truth, only vindication for preconceived assumptions.

Ahhh the good ol' days. At least it worked...that is if my poor vision was ever able to get the pins set correctly before bending them.
