All of a sudden I had the strangest feeling to buy hearing aid stock and wait 20 years.

One of the technicians in the lab where I work, is really into putting huge sub's into his car. He drives into the lot, and all you can hear is the panels on the car rattling!

One day I was complaining of a test tone that he had playing at high volume. He couldn't hear it at all. It was 14KHz, and was loud enough to make me want to put on hearing protection, and he couldn't hear it at all.

I love when he wants to tell me how accurate some system is. If it were accurate, he'd never know with his hearing!

If it is too loud, you are too old.

Actually, I find there is more of a curve.

Really young kids, less than about 13, don't want it really loud.

From about 13, to mid 20's, and some of the terminally immature ;-) want it really loud.

Toward middle age, the volume knob goes back down into the reasonable range.

Sometime in the 60's (or in their 40's for those who blew their hearing out in their 20's), the volume knob goes back up, due to hearing damage and age releated nerve deafness.
