We have used over 50 of them with zero issues. The most inexpensive HDBaseT balun out there. We only use HDBaseT baluns these days, plug in and they just work. What a concept.

Are you talking about these ones? [Link: monoprice.com]

Don't appear to be HDBaseT.

The monoprice HDBaseT extenders do not have b-directional IR.

Jesus, you guys are brave. I lay awake at night worrying about products designed specifically for our industry/CI's HDMI needs in jobs where we used them. I wouldn't come close to even thinking about trying something from monoprice when it comes to something this complicated.

I like monoprice for zipties, velcro, and cheap analog interconnects.

Or RS232.

I've had good luck with certain items like patch panels, banana jacks, etc. I've also had 50% failure rate on their Cat5e/Cat6 couplers which has cost me a lot of headaches. I couldn't imagine a balun from them! I do appreciate the fact that they are using HDBaseT chipsets so I have to believe the comfort level goes up a little but that is a scary proposition!

Does one expect to be invited back to a home when he installs a Monoprice balun?  What happens when your client sees the Monoprice logo on it, Googles it, compares it to his invoice and craps his pants?

I get shiny brushed aluminum looking adhesive backed hard plastic labels laser engraved with the company logo, 2"x3/4", for about $0.15 each / 100 minimum from a local trophy shop.

That's not a Monoprice extender, it's a SuperduperAV extender!

Monoprice:
Founded over 10 years ago in CA. Is a secretly backed Chinese govenment entity, made to destroy American businesses. Offering copies of the cheapest products they could duplicate, knowing Americans would flock over the junk.

Thier plan seems to be working perfectly :(

LMAO.....
I have always wondered that also....though word on the street has it now they are doing non-logo products. Not sure if it's all or some. I've also heard nail polish remover will take care of the logo, or labels as mikeztc said. Can't say I haven't been tempted by a few products, but have used zip ties, connectors, beanies, etc...
