Thanks Guys!
Zohan.. your trailer is sweeeeet, like seriously that is one of the nicest trailers i have ever seen, simply awesome! what do you think that weighs loaded? my 6x12 loaded was only around 2600lbs
Thanks Brendon, thanks Paul....its all aluminum so without looking at the paperwork i think it weighs around 1800 by itslf and loaded as is maybe 2500 or so....tomorrow ill post a couple pics of the outside, have a generator welded on the tongue so i can be totally self reliant on new construction sites...

Rather than pull a trailer, why not get a used box van? You could pick one up cheap (because they don't have a great re-sell value). Letter it, deck it out inside and park it. Use it when you need it for the bigger jobs.
One of my guys has a jeep. He was just telling me today that he needs more space. (He doesn't even use it for work). Just not enough space.
The only vehicles that have enough space usually have the word Cargo in front of them. +1 wrangler + CI = useless

JK Unlimited (4 door wrangler for jeep dummies) + trailer = winner winner chicken dinner!
I owned a 2008 JK unlimited and loved it! Get the Tuffy sliding drawers for the back and some tiedowns and you can haul a bunch of stuff in it. Lift it 3" and put 35s on it, re-gear it, and have a blast!
I only owned mine long enough to deck it out enough to get to Moab and go wheeling a few times. Sold it and have regretted it since. I see it around now and then. New owner is good to it and I made him promise to call me if he ever decided to sell it and I would try to buy it back.
Whatever you do, do not get a "contractor cadillac"...that is a huge-mongous 4 door diesel with 24" rims, 8" lift, etc. :) I know you know what I am talking about. Bwahaha!

Especially if it had my favorite Jeep Sticker on it. If You Can Read This Flip Me Over. (It's upside-down on the windshield)

I question security somewhat, and this really goes for any vehicle, but trailers I see as particularly vulnerable.
How and where do you park these? At the job? When you're not on the job?
We have a "location" but I was stupid and it has a freight level dock. It's on a major road (3 lanes each direction), but I still don't want to risk leaving a van or box truck, let alone a trailer, fully lettered outside the shop. Emptying it just to park it sort of defeats the point of the efficiency of having the truck, and leaving it full seems a bit cocky in the "nobody will ever steal my stuff" kinda way.
We're screwed for vehicles too. Most of our projects are between 1-2.5 hours away from the shop. Rarely do we do something in the city, or even remotely close to a Home Depot if we forget something (that's even obtainable at a rural Home Depot or hardware store, which doesn't have half what a normal one does). I was looking at a 16' box truck. It's a huge billboard 24/7. Tons of room for EVERYTHING we could possibly need. I just don't know where to store it. Gas consumption is a secondary but valid concern.
Drove the NV again a few days ago, high top variant this time. It's taller, but aside from being able to stand (albeit slightly hunched over) I don't see the high top as a huge advantage because I'm not sure how much actual cargo room it adds. There are no shelves up there, and rarely would I pile boxes that high. Floor space seems to be more important than height itself.
I've thought about pulling a trailer too, but this is even more of a concern for parking/storange when not in use....and I worry about safety as we get ridiculous winters here (at least we used to a few years ago). I don't want the trailer to sway away on me and rip me off the road.

I worked out of an extended E 250 for the majority of my life.
It took a while to figure out how to get EVERYTHING into it and have it organized so nothing, besides equipment to be delivered, ended up on the floor.
I still always wanted a trailer! So much more room to be organized and my knees get tired crawling around in the van! At 6'-3",I can't quite shuffle around on my feet like shorter guys.

Trailers are the best thing out there for big jobs, or full on custom work. I have a custom one that is kinda neat. I will leave it at that :) ps. Zohan, thats a nice rig you got there. ;

The optimist claims the glass is half full; the pessimist claims it is half empty. An engineer observes that the glass is twice as big as it needs to be.
Ps, you can't fix stupid |

I don't want the trailer to sway away on me and rip me off the road. I have and love the hightop NV & you can add additional storage up high for all kinds of things, you just need to be creative. For instance on the side with the sliding door above the shelfing I installed a magnet (the kind used on a snap on truck) and it holds all my wrenchs. On the end of one of the shelfs I put in a hook that holds extension cords and a small step stool. Also if you go to americanvan dot com you will find all kinds of additional storage ideas. Also take a look at the roof of the NV, it has an area for threaded rod and you can then add aditional storage for other various items.

Slightly OT, did you get the V6 or the V8? The V6 seemed to have a bit of trouble getting the high top up to highway speed and then be able to pass on the highway. The trip computer said I got substantially better gas mileage on the V8 pushing it less hard than the V6 pushing harder to get the van moving about the same way - same driving style. And this was an unloaded van....so I'm wondering now.

I never have trouble passing on the hywy, or getting to speed.

Super clean. You've changed my opinion of trailers. Still not buying one for the company but yeah if I was installing on a daily basis in one city I'd be all over that.

Dude! I am seriously drooling at your trailer right now, WOW! Stunning! What do you pull it with? also, did you have your ladder welded after the fact or did you custom order your trailer with the generator/wiring? or did you buy the trailer then outfitted it yourself? What type of generator are you using? is it one that is "Clean" so it doesn't destroy your electronics like your TV/laptop/chargers? or do you have a separate power conditioner for just those? makes my old trailer look like crap!
