I'm trying to register on GMX.com website but can't get passed the security code box.
I understand why they do it, but to make it this hard is excessive.
Don't get me started on the "Play Sound" option -- I can't make a single sound.

Worst part is that once incorrect input fails, I have no choice but to start from scratch and re-enter all the data again. By second failure, the page locks me out.

Below are some of their examples.
Because there is no explanation beyond this: "For security reasons please enter the code shown in the picture below. This is to ensure that a person, not an automated program, is creating this account.", I don't know if:
1. I'm suppose to enter spaces between words
2. I'm suppose to capitalize letters that appear capitalized
3. I'm suppose to enter special characters like commas and dashes

Anyone figure out what 1-6 is suppose to be?

It's identical to the registration code displayed on this site. There's always two words (or whatever), one on the left and one on the right. You should put spaces between the two words. Capitalization doesn't matter. Special characters don't matter (you can enter them or not).

The system works by showing you examples that the best OCR software can't decipher. One of the words it knows the answer to based on previous submissions, and the other word is new and it doesn't know. So, you can be wrong on a few characters of one word and it still might accept it. But since these are based on actual automated scans and they're always having to keep ahead of the recognition bots, quite often you'll get completely impossible words... so just refresh.

Looks like part of it may be their server. I just tried to register again and found image I could work with (I think) and it still didn't work. I've sent them an email.

The sound option is horrible. Anyone ever listen to it and made it work?

I think the first one on the right is actually "nagoast". But I'd go with Julie on the bottom right one.
