PQ is important but I think the customer is somewhat price sensitive.
Discrete control is a must. One Component video input is a must.
Probably needs to be a LED flat panel but might consider a plasma (Panny?)
As for LED, Sharp is the only one that makes an 80" right?
Does Samsung make a 70"? I'm pretty sure LG does not?
Interested in far fetched opinions as well as actual installation experience in the filed.

Let's kick it up to 85" 3D Panny. This one will require a dual decdicataed 220v circuits, a proper cooling system. Approximately $500,000.00 including construction. J/K :")
Sharp & Sharp Elite will fit in 70" category. If anything above 70", Sharp. Mitshubishi may be is a choice if client prefers to DLP.

PQ is important but I think the customer is somewhat price sensitive. That leaves out the 85" Panasonic. Discrete control is a must. One Component video input is a must. They all have that; Sharp, Panasonic, LG, Probably needs to be a LED flat panel but might consider a plasma (Panny?) So plasma and Panasonic in the 70" plus size...now your back to not price sensitive. 85" Panasonic ~30 grand. As for LED, Sharp is the only one that makes an 80" right? Sharp has 70/80/90 LED. According to LGs site they max out at 65. Samsung has a new 75" LED, 10 grand. Have you considered a projection system? Sounds like you and your client need to really narrow down what they want/need.

Panasonic plasma sets make for a great heating source...
I have a 65 at home and have a definite heat issue.

That will help the wives stop going to tanning salons. Heat was the reason we downgrade our TV to 55. Kids are complaining when they get to watch their weekly 3D movie.

One Component video input is a must. I think all the sets that have been recommended might not qualify here, as several have two Component video inputs.

Why is no one mentioning Black Diamond Zero Edge and Epson 6010 combo. It is cheaper per inch than the sharp 90, installs easy, looks incredible on 3d, and you make money.

I must be a flat panel. Logistics don't allow for a Projector installation.
The Elite 70" is a possibility and I have a source for them. How tightly controlled is distribution to the Elite stuff. I know it was supposed to NOT be whored out on the Internet, but has that actually been the case? Did they ever sort out their discrete IR codes issues?
And I would think that if the Sammy 75" is $10k why not get a Sharp 80" for less than half that prices and pair it with a DVDO (or something similar) and still come out big $ ahead?

I've done a few different flavors of the Sharp 70" & 80" models and the picture isn't that good, but the clients all thing they look great...

The Sharp Elite is considered by many to be the best flat panel out there.

The requirements (at least 4 months ago anyway...) for the Elite line are ridiculous. They require you to have one of each item on display (60,70,80 TVs, an AVR, network item, bluray etc) at your store front / showroom. So your opening order would have to be 2 of each item and like 6 AVRs. They call this one to show and one to go.
Also, they want you to commit to 100k of sales of their product per year.
All that being said, I had a large enough order to fulfill the opening order and put a dent in the annual commitment but then they told me it would take 6-8 weeks (minimum)to process my application. I explained that the jobs were time sensitive and couldn't wait that long but I could probably hold them off for 1-2 weeks. They said that the processing time couldn't be expedited, at that point I told them I would be looking elsewhere and to F off.

Yep. Get 14' away or so and it is acceptable.
