I've been personally using Pandora and iTunes for so long I've just become accustomed to and complacent with them both.
iTunes is a no-brainer for me; I buy a CD and import it or on occasion buy direct via the iTunes store.
I like Pandora because I can setup my stations based on artists I enjoy and it opens me up to new music that I may have not come across. What I don't like is the inability to directly play a specific track or only tracks from a particular artist.
This leads me to want to find another service to add to the mix; subscription based or otherwise, doesn't matter to me. What do you prefer to use, specifically with Sonos as that's my primary streaming audio source? I'm looking for a service that combines the best of both worlds I suppose...custom channels based on artist/track AND selection of specific artist/track at any given time.

Rhapsody is my favorite based on selection and ease of use. I know the quality is not what Mog and Spotify claim but it works well. Mog is cool but way to cumbersome to store albums and search. This was a year ago so I dont know if the interface changed.
Just my opinion

Pandora for background, party and garage music. MOG for when I really want to listen.

+1 for Rhapsody. I just got turned onto it because my phone came with the rhapsody account built in to the monthly fee, and the girl selling me the phone was hot so I didn't argue about it.
I haven't touched Pandora since. I download everything I want, build a playlist and search for specific songs all day long. Love it.

Pandora - for the reasons you listed already. Spotify - for what I want to hear.
iTunes is for apple fans in thier apple ecosystem (iPods, Apple TV's, etc...). If you don't have/need the iDevices, then you shouldn't use iTunes. It sucks! If you do have iDevices, then you have no choice. Although Spotify does let you manage music on an iPod or iPhone directly.

Spotify. And I like the new Radio feature better than Pandora. I started a station based on a playlist and in an hour of listening I only heard one artist I had ever heard of before.

I like MOG so far on SONOS. I have not used it as much as I would like to. No time to sit and listen.
I like last.fm for free service. Pandora is good for just letting it play. But I find that unless you add varieties to your stations, you will hear the same songs often.

Rhapsody to dial into exactly what you want.
My new FREE favorite is SONGZA.

All good answers thanks guys. I'm going to try out a couple of these. That's helped me narrow it down quite a bit out of the 20 or so they give you access to that I've personally never heard of. I've heard of rhapsody, that's been around for years and I recall setting up a client with that back on an install with Sonos v.1.

MOG and Songza. By a long shot... OTOH I abhor bloated iTunes (I keep one old computer around just for it, won't put it on any important PC). So maybe our priorities/tastes are too different ;)

My love affair with Pandora was brief. Most folks I know love it. But, those people aren't control freaks like I am. I want to hear very specific things, and Pandora, like FM and Satellite radio, play too much that I readily want to skip. Rhapsody has been the most dialed in to the way I listen. I've toyed with Spotify a bit, and like it, but honestly, Rhapsody just works the way I like. That being said, I'm also the kind of person that will spend hours creating a playlist of the exact songs I want in the exact placement I think has the best "flow". On the flip side, Pandora has turned me on to a few artists that I likely would never have heard otherwise.

I also like the Rhapsody channels. \ Gave up my Rhapsody subscription though. Pandora is the number one used App on my systems. Going to try Songza.

Some of the new stuff I want to listen to isn't available on Rhapsody or Spotify. Metric, Black Keys and a few other "new" albums aren't available for streaming yet. Metric just got added about a week or so ago. Kind of defeats the purpose of paying for a monthly charge to get "everything".
