Where they want different content on each TV the a digital signage solution is the better choice versus RF distrubution. Many of the digital signage solutions also control the displays via RS-232 from a small form factor PC that mounts on the back of the display. With this it can change inputs, go to a particular channel, turn the display on and off, etc based on a pre determined schedule. Why have them on during class for instance? Or all night for that matter. If you are working with an IT guy, these things will matter as they are all about control. With a true digital signage solution all you will pull to each location is Cat5 and RG-6 if you want the displays to tune cable.

This is exactly what they want. So, Yes they want to display advertisement for the School events, for example: in the high school hall ways it would advertise the info
for the Friday night dance or football game, over in the elementary they would have a different advertisement. They are going to use the school tech class to create the advertisement sponsored by the local bank in the area. We are currently set up with Fame Jazz Digital Signage but have never ordered. If the digital box from Frame jazz will control tv via 232 then this would be perfect. I will find out if it will. Will BrightSign control tv's?

Yes, through HDMI CEC.  Just make sure the TV's provided have the capabilities.

Simply set the time you want the Brightsign to display.  The TV will automatically turn on or off.

I don't want to start a war of who's DS box is better...I just want to let you know that spinetix has a RS-232 port to control your TV/monitor.

Thanks, good to know.

The frame jazz company can also control tv. I will try them out and see how it goes. Thanks for all of the info to everybody.

How about LG EzSign TV?

Look at their commercial division.

The only way that display will work if you hang a macmini or similar off the VGA.

The built in timer for ON and OFF will not support the USB connection. OOS.

Otherwise, a great value for signage if you know the limitations. I use one in the shop and have installed a few.

If the TV locations already have RG6, you can use a HD modulator with a single
computer as the source of video.
this is easy to set up and easy to swap out if there are problems.
I may be schizophrenic, but at least I have each other.
