Is there an App out there that gives an audible tone when the wifi drops off or gets very poor? I am trying to do some troubleshooting and this would be helpful rather than refreshing my iphone as i walk around.

You might want to look into a mobile android device for this. Apple seems to think Wifi tools like you describe are "Hacker tools" and they dont get approved.
WiEye, WiFi Analyzer and Fing are by favorite Android tools for this (Yes, Audible tones as well!)

Since you are using an iPhone, no, unless you jailbreak it. Wifi apps are now (and have been for quite some time) banned by apple.

I dont know maybe ive seen the light, but i compare Apple now to Bose the way it doesnt play nicely with other things and they are nazi's at the app store and the cult following they have.
i hate android too, i think im going to get a windows phone to go along side of my new tablet when it releases.

Apple SUCKS! ahhh, you have seen the light grasshopper. Now come back to the light, where everything is not closed down and virtually every piece of software that you use is designed around.

Get inSSIDer 2.0 on your laptop. It's free and it gives a more accurate signal strength and identifies what other channels all the surroundling WAPs and routers are using.

While a picture is worth a thousand words, do you suppose you could spare a few dozen words to explain a bit about why you love it? And what it is?

While a picture is worth a thousand words, do you suppose you could spare a few dozen words to explain a bit about why you love it? And what it is? it is a Nokia Lumia 900 and I like it because it has very long battery life, excellent talk time, good sound quality (voice wise), crazy good screen (image wise), it is not an apple product, it ties in easily with my other microsoft software suites, it has gorilla glass so it is durable, it has just enough of an app selection to make me happy, a large screen so it is easy to see, it takes really good pictures for a phone, video is really good too...I am sure their is more, but that is what I have for now...if I HAD to complain, I would like to have the ability to add storage with an outboard micro sc card, but it does have 10Gig internal which seems to be enough for now, and I would prefer to have direct syncing between my laptop and phone for outlook...not push to skydrive (cloud), but I guess it is nice to put stuff on my calendar and have it sync with ease with my wifes lumia 900 via wireless connectivity...back to nit picking... it does not play FLAC and it just sounds OK with headphones...but it is a phone first for me so that is not a huge deal. is that enough Ernie? :)

Best thing to do is hit an AT&T store and test drive it. Its the only smart phone ive seen that has me wanting to leave the iPhone. The only reason i didn't get it was because Verizon didn't (still doesn't?) have it when my iPhone contract was up.
While we are on the subject...my love affair with verizon from years ago is over. After having an iPhone with Verizon i realize that the grass isn't any greener. I should have stuck to my grandfathered $100 a month unlimited data plan at AT&T.
