I have locations with cat5 cable only where I need to charge an iPad and an iPhone. Longest run is around 100'. I need the apparatus at the device end to be as small as possible so I can tuck in a millwork pocket.

What USB over cat5 solutions do the best job carrying power?

What else should I be looking at? Thanks.
If it's not simple, it's not sufficiently advanced.

Leave it to Apple to be different. I have yet to find a USB to CATx adapter that an "i" device will recognize, let alone charge.
