Denver is awesome. As mentioned, since it's a major United hub, it's 1 flight from pretty much anywhere. Indy you have to connect and pretty much have to fly crap regional airlines to get in. The city is garbage, but not nearly as bad as Atlanta. I have no idea why they moved it there but never again please.

We can keep it as Denver every year I'm down with that,

Generally speaking, the closer it gets to the show, the further outside of the city you have to look for a hotel. Downtown is nice, but outside of that can be quite doable for those who don't mind driving a rental car or taking a cab.

Vegas is my least favorite spot for conventions. The CES traffic and lines make me never want to go there again.

I agree. I live there (since 2003) and haven't been to CES more than once and that was back in 2005 I believe. Denver is a great spot for CEDIA...somewhat of a major city that is clean and has lots to do; it's also convenient for most U.S. travelers due to their large hub and the mere fact it's in the middle of the country so to speak. Problem is...CEDIA is based out of Indianapolis; they probably want it to be close to home every few years just because of that.

Indy is a good town. Light years ahead of Atlanta (at least in terms of the possibility of my attendance) and probably in great shape after the superbowl, but I am so glad its back in Denver next year. Denver is one of the best cities in the country for this event. I know its far for some but the city is ultra safe, clean, good weather, good outdoor activities, and a place even the family would enjoy. Booking tickets soon.

Lost Wages is great! Other than stupid long security lines at the airport, and the long cab lines (for those that do the cab thing) when you arrive. Pretty good transportation once you learn the ways.

Denver is also great, with the exception of the airport that's out somewhere in Kansas. They ever put in a lite rail to the airport, they'll be THE destination. No doubt about it transportation wise. Denver wins.

Atlanta WAS okay at one time. Maybe they'll get it back together some day. No idea about transportation, as I drove (a total nightmare) and walked.

New Orleans was fantastic but it won't ever be there again since the CV is a bit too small, and the city cannot handle a large influx of nerds.

Indy just isn't getting it. Get a descent price for a room and you're in another state. No transportation to speak of. Food pretty much sucks unless you're into White Castle's.

For those that drive in, Vegas is the only place that has tons of free parking. All the others charge a ridiculous amount for that 10x20 spot (the scratches and dents are free). And god forbid you park somewhere and get towed (you thought your plane ticket was expensive?).

I liked Indy alot last year.  I parked my car at the hotel and didn't get back in it until we were on our way home.  We walked everywhere we went.  People were friendly.  Hotel was better than expected.

But I like Atlanta too.  What do I know.  Hang out in Buckhead for awhile where the women out number the men 12-1.  You'll have a whole new appreciation for Georgia.

Indy is getting much better, but Denver is the absolute bomb!

Austin or San Antonio would be awesome, but difficult to get to, and still probably too small for CEDIA.

Minneapolis was great and an easy place to get to.

Maybe would like to do a re-do in New orleans?

They should just give it to Denver in perpetuity. Far and away the best place. If we get too big again, they should take it to Vegas because they can support us. I went to Lightfair at LVCC a few months back, and the experience was pretty great, actually.

I like Indy. To give you an idea of how much...the last CEDIA i was at was in Indy. It was so long ago that Phast paid for our trip because we were high volume dealers. I still have my "AMX VIP" ID.

Only problem in Texas is the "F, fight, or draw a gun" attitude. I think a lot of CI's would end up in jail, or worse yet, dead...

Minneapolis was great and an easy place to get to.

Of all the CEDIA venues I've been to , this is the only one I have zero memories of, other than the dark, gloomy, cold, snowy nights. Can't say it was a pleasant trip at all.

Now THAT I would be down for. Have a Hurricane or two and life seems really good...

I am staying at the Wingate out by the airport. Still rooms there.

Make sure you look at the shuttle list if you're planning on relying on that, especially out by the airport.

[Link: cedia.net]

We got the Hyatt Place out by the airport on Hotwire for $56/night. Free internet/breakfast/parking, and it is one of the shuttle stops. As of right now there are still rooms on Hotwire for that price. It's the *** in the "east area" that lists "golf nearby" as one of the amenities.

I will give you that Minnepolis isn't the greatest destination, cold and gloomy but snow? I have never seen snow in September LOL! Isn't night time typically dark? Sunset is around 7:00-8:00 which isn't too early I guess.

I prefer to travel for event like these because it's nice to get out of the house and socialize vs. going back home at the end of the day. My vote is Vegas. My wife's vote is Minneapolis.
