Last year I booked my hotel right around the same time. Approx. A month early. Didn't have any problem. This year, I'm having a bitch of a time finding rooms. CEDIA Housing is full of waiting lists. Hotels are booked. Better get crackin' unless you plan on sleeping in the back of your van.
Disclaimer: I'm looking Downtown, not by the airport.

So if no one is going this year and all the rooms are booked up, who are all the rooms being booked by?

Nothing wrong with staying at the airport. Did it last year, doing it again this year. :)

Oftentimes one of your reps will have a block of hotel rooms reserved. Contact them and ask. That's bailed us out in the past when we were indecisive til the last minute.
We won't be going either...waste of time and too busy. Maybe next year, I prefer Denver anyway.

Nothing really interesting other than hangin with bros. That's all I think the Cedia expo is good for: Networking, talking with peers, and camaraderie with co-workers/employees.

Indy is not super fun, plus it takes about 8 hours to get there from Portland. Add to that the fact that most vendors have flatlined over the last 5 years, and there is really no compelling reason to go. They should just commit to having it in Denver every year. Great city, and 1 airplane for almost everyone in North America.
I admit, I'm a little sorry not to be able to get in front of vendors and see my buddies, but I just can't see the value this year. Find me at the Hyatt in '13-'14!

I ended up finding a few rooms in the medical district a couple miles away from the convention center. Indy is real convenient for me only a 4 hr drive and I'm there. Oddly enough, I used to drive there for football games to watch Manning anihilate the competition. Maybe the folks at CEDIA had a hand in getting him traded to Denver in hopes I'd show up for 2013 CEDIA? Hmmmmm.

my favorite venu for Cedia so far has been Denver. I am absolutly amazed that an equally great place has not been found to handle this event (no offense to Denver). Atlantia = absolute failure Indy = well, it's Indy. In my case if it were not a realativly short drive I would pass. Denver = Great, although next time I'm flying. The drive through Nebraska killed me. Where else can you see the Sod Museum?
Where else has it been been and what venues have you liked?
