What is your preferred / most reliable method to locating them in a rack and extending to display?
I have 2 atv3's, one will go through denon avr-2113 then to tv, the other through a sony str-dh710, to another tv.
Issues?

3' HDMI cable from AppleTV to AVR :)

Are you asking about extending HDMI from the AVR to the Display?

I phrased it wrong earlier, was multitasking. :)
Just wondering if there are any hiccups on running the atv through receivers I should be aware of...?

Actually, correct me if i'm wrong. Using the ipod/dock is redundant, because all his content will be available throught the apple tv.....

Correct?

Yes. Setup Home Sharing on his network. All iTunes libraries on the network will be available to the Apple TV, and mobile devices can Airplay content over.

No sorry, the factory provided remote is not a learning remote.
