I have a client with a apple TV 2 with a component converter going to a matrix switch than feeds a pre/pro and it works fine . Now we need to put an apple tv 3 local at pre/pro and we cant get it to work at all .We tried Hdmi , component converter . and nothing works . we cant get it to give a signal . we put in an apple tv 1st gen that we had laying around and it works fine but the gen 3 doesn't.
Tying the pre/pro back to the matrix switch is also not an option.

Which HDMI/comp converter are you using? HDFury III has worked well with Apple-3 and HDMI-only ReQuest Media Player.

try taking the HDMI setting on the ATV3 off of "auto" and switch it to something like 1080i or 720p. I seem to recall that working with a converter at some point in the past.

I'm Not an engineer, but I play one on TV. My handle is Tweety but I have nothing to do with the organization of similar name. I just had a really big head as a child so folks called me tweety bird. |

Yes, we use the Monoprice converter and set a fixed resolution in the ATV menu. It doesn't negotiate "auto" so well.

I have found that 1080 doesnt play well with converters. I set the apple to 720 and all issues gone. for now anway, lol.
