Back to this. Luxul makes a good switch but some WAP testing by Anthony has driven me to steer clear.
For the project I am working on now I'm thinking a 48 port rack mountable switch, A good router (Managed DHCP) and 6 WAPs (2 on each floor) 10,000 sq ft house.
What are you guys using?
Maybe the Pakedge K6 router, 2 Pakedge 24 port switches and 4 enterprise Class Pakedge WAPs.
I will need some POE ports (Maybe 12) Do The packedge 24 port POE switches allow me to inject POE on only the ports I select?
Thoughts?

I would add that Luxul makes a great switch IF you don' need POE. For the roject you are describing, I would look at Netgear ProSafe and their AP controller.

We went ruckus + zone controller and haven't looked back. Its always tempting to put a WAP at each end of the house on each floor but i have had better luck staggering them. Good starting point anyway.

I really do need to look more into the arukus gear. I have never heard anything bad about it.

The Pakedge package will work well but perhaps be a little lower on the value scale. When you factor in their support it usually evens out, but not every job is the same.
PoE is an auto-negotiating protocol where the if the endspan device doesn't have a signature that tells the switch what class of PoE, it won't send PoE so there is no concern with managing that.

We've been using
Switches: Pakedge or HP Procurve Router: Mikrotik WAPs: Ruckus is first choice always, if budget doesn't allow, Ubiquiti
Of ubiquiti we were using the Pico's or rockets but I think we will probably be using mainly the Unifi WAPs from now on when we can't sell ruckus.

Router- ??? Still need to find a good go to. They all have some problem. Switch- netgear smart switches. Some managed features, great price, poe, gigabit etc. Heard good things about pro curve. WAP- ruckus, that's it. It is as simple as that. That stuff works. I put the $1,100 7982 in for a client and it was amazing. He said it was the first time in 12 gears he had reliable WiFi in his house. He has tried repeaters, boosters, custom firmware for routers/waps etc. I was amazed how well it worked with both signal strength and speed.

6k sq ft. 3k per floor x2. Put WAP downstairs, basically in dead center of house. I purchased the 1106 wireless controller and 2 WAPs. Don't think I am going to need them. I'm going back over today to see how things have been.

You for got to add "oh my" at the end of your post. They don't work as good as there supposed to. I just tried a couple of them in a log home. Not impressed. Especially for the price of them. Honestly, the signal was no better than a netgear wireless N wap.
