The other reason I like a "Dahua" style DVR, G4 or Qvis, there is software developed by others that will give you a "simple view" of one camera streaming in a re-sizable box on a Windows computer (for cashiers etc.) or a "fastview" of a 3x3 pattern of which ever cameras you want for your desktop--no BS program or browser to deal with for a person who just wants watch live view of a remote location.

The downside is the composite video main output and the client software, but once again that is what Dig Watchdog is for.

Personally I prefer the much greater resolution and image quality of megapixel ip cameras. Makes CCTV look like a joke.

Having never worked with IP cameras, I have a question. Are they viewable at night? I believe they do not make IR IP cameras. I could be mistaken of course.

Considering Wirepath vs. IC Realtime now...This thread is helpful, but 2 years old. Any current thoughts, especially as pertains to customer-facing interface on laptop and phone/tablet...?

Thanks Zohan. What are a few "high points" of Geniv vs. ICR or WP DVR's? At first blush, it appears to be more of same...
