At least I think so. iOS 6 will feature single app mode. That means you can keep the iPad operating on a single app and prevent the user from going to the iPad's home page when home button is pressed. Nice!

You can do this now via kiosk mode. We've been using it for a while.

Im 98% sure it has to be jailbroken to unlock this feature. I read a few months ago about disabling the home button that essentially the "geniuses" jailbreak every ipad that is used as a display next the imac's with an apple designed "jailbreak" function.

Its within the coding of the ipad but its within the springboard so for us everyday folks the only way to get access to it is via jailbreaking it.

Unless you know another way, do tell!

You're 98% incorrect :-). I posted step by step instructions here. Works without jailbreak. Have this running in my own place and several clients. Here's the link to my forum post. You're essentially altering the iOS plist for the devices profile to be in kiosk (demo) mode. Looks like nobody cared lol

Tweeterguy, just saw your link and had to give it a go ! I was under the belief that it could only be done with a jailbreak !
Have you seen any problems when updating the iPad's OS with this feature ?

Pity I find this only when OS6 is so close and will add this feature, but it won't add it too iPad1's.

No. We don't allow clients to update but my personal iOS devices are always being updated without issue.
