Hi eveyone,

I've had this strange problem for a while... it's time to ask the pros.

We have one cabin that has two Sharp LCD 40" TV's. There are three styles of operation; bed, sofa or both.

When you push Bed on the TPS8 remote just the bed TV will turn on go to the desired input. The Linn unit will flick to the correct input (sometimes not) and a relay will choose the speaker setup.
Same for the Sofa.
When you press both... you guessed it, both TV's come on and the relay lets all the speakers have audio.

The problem I'm having is the Bed TV (maybe once every one or two days) comes on by itself. It doesn't come on to the correct input either. I get the call from the stewardesses, "The TV is on in the port side, lower deck cabin again."

My installer said that maybe the MP2E PSU is failing which would release a contact and turn on the TV. Why would only one TV come on though?

I've captured the logs in Toolbox

1. Warning: LAN A RxOverrun counter reset. (flags = 4)
TimeStamp: 00:48:47 6-09-12 UpTime: 3 days 10:46:30.15 Task: EnetLISR
2. Notice: Ethernet Receiver Enabled by Watchdog
TimeStamp: 00:48:53 6-09-12 UpTime: 3 days 10:46:35.60 Task: ETHWDOG
3. Warning: LAN A RxOverrun counter reset. (flags = 4)

But I don't know what they mean. I've had to reboot my core Cisco switch recently which would interrupt TCP/IP connectivy for a few minutes... is that all this error means?

My installer is looking into this, too. I'm hoping someone has an idea what could be happening.

Thanks!

Run debugger and only watch the two TV's located in that room. This will tell you if the processor is sending out a command to the second TV.

How are the TV's controlled IR, RS232? If IR maybe there is a way that the second TV is receiving the commands and turns On.

How was the system programmed, Simpl or SB? If in SB there may be some wierd logic happening that is creating the second TV to turn on that you can't see (I have had this before)

Is there reclaimable space on the processor? I have had problems where if I have loaded a lot to the processor it starts doing wierd things and an intialize or reclaim will fix the problem
You can't fix stupid

Is there a CNRFGWA installed in the system? I have seen this type of thing happen if other yachts are in RF range and have crestron systems with RF remotes set to the same cresnet ID as you have used in your program.

I would check the program for toggles that have the ON command as the primary output of the toggle. If the program restarts and there are toggles that are set up this way, the device will turn on after program restart. The program restart can be caused by many things but mostly by power interruption. The way to solve this is to put the OFF command on the primary ouput of the toggle command in the program.

Something on the network is bombarding your processor with traffic and causing the ethernet watchdog to reboot it over and over again, which will release your relays. 2-Series processor IP stacks are not particularly robust, especially when subjected to heavy broadcast traffic. Try to find out if a new device has been added to the network recently, or a new piece of software on an existing device.
