Anyone familiar with the setup? I set it as access point, no security (also tried with) , default ip, and can see it but says unable to connect (using an iPad). Was 5 pm Sat so didn't spend any more time on it. I'm not a network guy at all but was trying to help customer extend his network outside to a sitting area. Any input what to check? (I know, hire a pro)

So it has an ethernet connection to the rest of the network and the router?
The default IP is 192.168.1.20. Is this possibly already in use? Is the IP scheme consistent with the gateway/router (as in 192.168.1.xxx)?

Yes, hard wired. I left the IP as the default, it's not in use and the IP scheme is the same. The router is using DHCP but the nano is static so I probably need to change the IP to one outside the DHCP range, right? I realize I probably need to fix that but didn't think it would be a problem as long as there was no overlap.

Do the ubiquity waps allow config over http when connected wirelessly to the unit? You may have to enable http over wifi or connect hardwired.

Not sure about the Loco (I've only used Pico, AirRouter, and Power APN), but likely you have to disable AirMax. Should be on the System or the (AirOS logo) tab.

Disable AirMax.
Set channel width to 20MHz (default is 40MHz)

Remember to reboot the modem after you set up your AP. I've been able to connect to the AP but not get out and that was my issue.

There is no truth anymore. Only assertions. The internet world has no interest in truth, only vindication for preconceived assumptions. |
