Where do you guys buy our Cat6 cable from for the best bang for the buck? Monoprice has 1000' for $105 + $20 shipping.

Are there better deals to be had? I need to pickup 2-3 boxes (1000'/ea)

Thanks in advance,

At 1000 feet your lookin at a pennies a foot. Stop trying to find the cheapest wire.

Cheaper wire is usually:

Inside a crappy box that breaks
Has a poor pull system
Has a poor foot marking system
Has stiff outer jacket
Poorly colored utp pairs ( Is this the brown pair? Or the orange pair? )

Etc etc ......

Not to mention the counterfeit Cat 6 out there. And it is out there.

Don't trust el cheapo cable. Buy a reputable brand from a reputable vendor. The slight cost difference now is a whole lot cheaper than having to go rip it all out when it starts to degrade later!

ICE Cable is what we use.

In addition to the warnings above, cheap cable is oftentimes copper clad, not solid copper. That's a bad thing.

I have used that cat6 for over 2 years now, in everything from small systems to 10,000 sf homes without a single issue. Put 12,000' of it in a project last year, works great.

I vouch for the Firefold cable as well. Used tons of it myself. Literally, tons.

If you're an installer and plan on purchasing larger quantities (over time, not necessarily in one order), get setup as a reseller/installer. They used to have a program that gave discounted pricing. Here's the information for their sales guy:
