As most of are aware, Samsung is no longer available from AVAD. For those of you who were unable to become dealers, what are you doing for tvs? You would think, that if ever there were a time for LG/Panasonic/Toshiba (Cinema Series), and Vizeo to steal some CI market share, now would be a good time. It'll be interesting to see how this all plays out. What happens when Samsung/Sony inventories start to accumulate? My money is on Sony to crack first...
I'll be pushing Pioneer Elite and LG. Back in the day, Toshiba Cinema Series was a very good tv and a protected line, perhaps they should look at doing that again?
Thoughts?

We are doing:
Panasonic for Plasma....always have been since Pioneer Elite shut down. Still my favorite TV on the market...if only they were a smidge thinner but they are no thicker than the majority of the Samsung non-protected line.
Sony and Sharp for LED/LCD. I've never liked the PQ on LG...one day I'll take another look at them but IMO they are all garbage compared to a nice dialed in plasma.

Same here. I couldn't care less about selling the TV's anymore. But I'll provide it as part of the service and build the delivery fee in to the install.

I would recomend looking at LG again (at least for the LED's), a very nice picture, solid IR & 232 control, as well as great asthetic's.

I just spec the Samsung TV's into my bid and have the client pic them up. Waste of time dealing with TV's. They google everything and anything anyway.

AVAD sells Samsung but you have to have the UPP agreement signed before you can purchase them. Just be careful of the depth! I spec'd a 6000 series and had to call the customer back when I realized that series is 3.5" deep. That series use to be under 1.5".
I wouldn't consider Toshiba as great! IMO they are for budget projects only!
Still can't get behind Sharp even though they are making it tough not to with the prices, sizes, and control options. I've just always thought the video was terrible and had a lot of artifacts.
Sony, Samsung, and Panasonic in that order. Elites are nice but we don't sell them. It's pretty tough to maintain margins lately when half the crap we install are TV's and Apple products. sigh

I'll typically sell them as part of a project but don't bother with doing a single TV for hang and bangs. Probably sold 10 last month so I'll take it.
