Damn man. That sounds like pure hell. I can't believe it took 27 hours to fly from Brazil to Chicago either. Did you swing by Europe, Africa, and then head home? Sorry, from Cubitina, to Sao Paulo to Chicago, then Seattle.

Wow! That's like the combination of 5 movies in one story, except worse, AND true! Good stuff (at least from the reader's perspective). You could sell it to Hollywood and retire, but nobody would believe it:-)

Honestly... Somewhere around item 3 or 4, I would have been on my way to the nearest Hilton, cost be damned.
I understand going local, but when the locals are having knife fights over a bingo game, it's time to reassess who you've decided to be around! The fact you stuck it out, makes me doubt your sanity.
Seriously, why did you stay? Was the name of the place "The BDSM Inn"? The only reason I stayed was because my friend was there and she speaks the language. I gotta tell ya, all sickness aside... trying to navigate my way through the airports was terrifying as I get confused at american airports! My friend dumped me off and took off to her parents. I thought I get stranded down there... seriously. Going to the Dr. tomorrow as my hip and feet are all messed up again, and my fever and cold chills are returning.

My Sympathies, Good luck and Cheers! Wow... Corey is a facebook friend I've got a few pics posted there. Corey is enjoying a beautiful vacation in Hawaii right about now. Next trip, I'll take my son to Hawaii or Cabo. To say this trip was a ball buser would be a severe understatement. What issues does your dad have? Hope he's Okay.

I'm guessing you just get a bit distracted by all the commotion and activity. Airports are not that difficult. I've yet to see one anywhere in the world, that was difficult to navigate, once you know a bit about what to look for. I've been to airports all over the world, and they all work the same. You look for the "Departures" monitor/flight list (Some small airports just have handwritten flight lists posted). You find you flight on the list, they are organized in alphabetical order by destination city for the flight. This will get you a gate, typically a letter and number. You then follow the signs to your gate, and wait for the flight. Typically the gate consists of a letter, which is typically an area of the airport, followed by a letter, which is the location in that wing. So if you are at A12, and need to get to C34, you first follow the signs to C, and then to 34 within the C wing. It really is that easy! Sorry to hear about the problems. I hope the sex is good enough to be worth it! LOL (We know men will do most anything for a good looking woman!)

You are right that if you travel enough, you can follow the system in most airports and get around. But there are exceptions. One time I was coming back from Dubai connecting through Toronto. I get there and they tell me some strange story about my ticket connection not being good and having to go to some counter to deal with it. If one did not speak the local language, it would have been tough to figure that out. But the story got better. I then go through security and they decide to pull me out of line and giving me the full "treatment." By then I am very late. I follow the line down and next thing I know they are sending us through immigration which had a line with 1000 people in it. I go and tell them I am just making a connection. Why would I need to go through immigration? They say I have no choice. So I go through the darn line, running very late. I get to the counter and the immigration agent asks, "why are you coming to Canada?" I was about to strangle her. She proceeds to stamp my passport and everything as if I was visiting Canada. Almost missed my connecting flight. I have flow almost 2 million miles and still run into stuff like this once in a while....

I was just recently thinking, its been a long time since I had seen a Mr. Stanley story. (I used to make new guys read the water line story before being allowed to use power tools).
I laughed so hard I feel guilty. You should break up with that chick just for her even considering moving down there.

Oh yeah,
Airports are EASY...
Flying into Charles De Gaulle for the first time is just a simple thing. Follow the signage and you'll likely never be heard from again....
