What's her favorite?

We use the R at the house because my equipment is directly under the TV, and I don't need 2 way control.

She won't put the damn thing down.

Too lazy to look into this myself at the moment but what are compatible two way ipod docks, thermostat, lighting and security? Anyone have experience tying in two way devices?

iPort for iPod from what I could tell in my quick peruse. Also the RTI iDock

Thermostats are Aprilaire and the CT30, which is a wifi $115-ish thermostat. Lighting, Lutron and several UPB types. Security, I didn't see any in the pre-built list, but I could be wrong.

Iport FS-23 for ipod dock.

Aprilaire for HVAC.

Lutron for lighting

I don't mess with alarms.

I played around with the software just now. Looks nice. It's compatible with a $100 wifi thermostat, which is sweet, as well as Aprilaire. Lutron lighting looked easy enough.

Didn't see anything for security? I assume we could add it easy enough? I saw the RTI AD-4 in there also. I didn't see the AD-8in the list. Is that available? Rarely is 4 zones enough for distributed audio. This thing looks like it will be easy to sell.

Whats the best iPod dock for this unit? I saw something about cover art possible. Which iPod dock is best with it to get cover art?

My understanding is that the ProControl iPhone/iPod/iPad app will supply cover art from the RTI dock due to it's Wifi connection. The 433Mhz or 2.4Ghz Zigbee remotes will not supply cover art to the remote.

Same goes for RTI products. Remotes that use Wifi connections or Hard Wired LAN capable In wall units will display cover art but the non Wifi/LAN products will not.

Has anyone been successful in getting the Z remote to control and display metadata from an iTunes library? i.e., PC or Mac running iTunes.

Also, there appears to be support for receiver-specific iPod docks, like Yamaha, etc.

Here is my question, can you use it with URC dimmers like what is possible with rti?

I am also interested in this. With the remote being designed for small single room systems, a small, single room lighting control solution seems a requirement.

No URC Lutron. ProC is AM and RTI is FM.

I have a client with a Pro24.r with a ProLink.r that has been in place for a number of years – the current programing includes Dish Network Sat receiver commands – the owner is changing to a Directv model HR54-500 Sat receiver – I have not worked with ProControl in the last few years – I seem to remember being able to easily replace a “similar” device IR code set in the software without having to pull all of the IR codes in “one at a time” – Am I day dreaming??
