Seem to have run into a weird phenomenon with Integra receivers. Seems like anything over a 30.2 model wise has some kind of equalization process going on in the sub out even with all the EQ settings for sub that I could find turned off.
I set up a Sunfire TSEQ10 on a Integra 50.2 in our demo room and it sounded really poor. I even tried running the receivers calibration with no sub then going back in and turning the subwoofer on. It really seems like the LFE output of the integra has something going on that messes with the sunfire EQ system. I also tried just setting the subwoofer to bypass and letting the receiver do the calibration and although it was better still not where it should be for performance. Swapped out to a pioneer elite receiver and/or a marantz receiver and the problem goes away.
Just curious as to if anyone has run into this or has any advice on overcoming this. I have emails into sunfire and Integra but nothing solid in return yet.

One thing I have learned in this industry. It is easier to pull a wire than it is to push one. |
