I have a Microphone input that has a Radio Shack Model 33-3036 microphone plugged into it. I ran a balanced line to another location and have at that end an AFK 5 microphone. Both mics work independently but if both are plugged into the Y adapter at once neither one of them will work. The balanced line had solder on ends looked at all my solder ends and pin outs and fairly certain that they are correct. Just curious if anyone has ran into anything like this.
One thing I have learned in this industry. It is easier to pull a wire than it is to push one.

When running multiple microphones into a single input, I recommend an external mixer.

yeah that looks like the way that's it's going to have to be. Now I need to find a cheap 2 channel mixer that really doesn't need much more then level adjustment. These are just announcements being made not concerts being sung

Do they both have ON/OFF switches? These are normally set up to short the balanced line to mute the mic, also muting the other mic. If this is the case, the quick and dirty way is to wire these mics up IN SERIES! The mute switch of the unused mic makes it act as a direct wire connection for the mic in use. This only works for truly balanced mics.
