Anyone have any problems with these not firing IR codes? I have two of them connected to identical displays and get nothing out the IR ports on the box. Checked the emitter with a camera and they are definitely not firing IR from them.I checked the codes with the emitter plugged into my processor they work fine.

Could be a programming issue. Maybe the the IR for the TV was programmmed to emit from the control processor versus the room control box .

Nope double checked it. I was swapping it around to verify programming was correct.

Which DM switcher and which control processor are you using? How was it programmmed (SIMPL or System Builder)?

FIxed it. Didn't have the room kits assigned to the switcher.

So, it *WAS* a programming issue, after all? :-)

No it's not a programming issue. Started doing it again. I had the room kits assigned with a static Ip in the option #2 of the install manual. TB told me to drop them on a card slot like option #1 of the install manual. When I did that everything worked the first time. Now I am back to square one. No control out of the room boxes. I am going to get a ST-SPL for two of the IR ports and use the IR ports on the processor. Wasted way to much time on this. They are bench testing to see what the issue is.

Especially when you're the programmer.

Obviously the first thing to check is if they are communicating with the processor by using EST on the processors console. Are they reporting as online?

I could not confirm this previously because it was late night, long day of troubleshooting a system but I think I had a problem with stacked IR files on the RMC's. I was using multiple files to find out which code was right for a display and it seemed that when I brought it down to a single file it began working. Again, I could have been hallucinating and did not do any scientific testing to confirm.

The problem was with the switcher. For some reason the switcher was changing the IP ID's of the room kits so that they were exactly the same. Every time I changed it in tool box and plugged a DM back into the room kit it changed. I factory restored the switcher and the room boxes, set everything up again and everything works fine. NO I didn't change any programming. LOL!! Very strange.

What is even stranger (if I am understaning you correctly) is that you get IR for the TV's from IR ports on the main control processor and from IR ports on the room control box without changing the program. Normally IR is only programmed to the one port where the controlled device is actually located.

Yes indeed it is. While troubleshooting the program I removed it from the RMC and added it to one of the ports on my processor to verify the codes were working. After that I loaded the original program back to the processor. I was just stating that with no program change on the original code and factory restoring everything, I got it working.

I wasn't sure if what you refered to as "it" was the program, the emitter or the room controller. Also, I've never encountered the IP ID problem you described when installing and programming DM. Glad to hear you got it going!

Yah thanks. Pretty vague "it". Just read through it. "It"=IR emitter. LOL!!
