This is pretty slick. It is exactly what I wanted to invent for Android. A 3rd party box that mirrors your tablet or phone. This will be huge in conference rooms, corporate offices, and home media rooms. It's a source and remote in one. [Link: apple.com]Has anyone used it yet?

It's primarily all we use. We can add this to a Bitwise system, load the URL Schemes for Pandora, slacker, youtube, etc.
Makes it awfully easy. People love it.
Just installed one on Friday on a glorified hang and bang. (was a pain in the ass hard job)..brickfireplace, etc.
Guy was kind of stoic about the TV install. Wasn't showing any emotion about the TV (which looked great)...He almost crapped his pants when we showed him Apple TV.
This morning his neighbor called for an appointment.

Anything similar for Android tablet? I think you can use Doubletwist for an AppleTV and an android. But you'll have to look into it, I'm not sure how or if it will work.

What is needed to stream Pandora from the iPad, or is it automatic?

Who says you can't put 61" plasmas up on cantilever mounts using toggle bolts? <---Thanks Ernie ;) |

Thanks, both- I asked because I saw an old customer at the grocery store and she spends more time in the kitchen than in the family room (not just cooking, she's on her iMac all the time). She wanted to be able to see what's playing in Pandora and the Denon AVR-991 wasn't originally connected to the kitchen TV (their choice, not mine) although I insisted on running a Cat5e to the kitchen TV during the rough-in. I want to add an Apple TV to the Zone 2, so they can use it for whole-house music (Pandora), controlled by their iPhone or iPad and this will be the easier way, I think.

Just download the Pandora app, connect Apple TV, show her the Airplay Icon and she's off to the races. Keep in mind you may need to get a Digital/Analog converter to go from the AppleTV to the AVR ZOne 2

Got a free code that I'll have to dig up. Doesn't look like it support mirroring though. At least not yet. Looks similar to Airplay before 5.0.

Mike DoubleTwist isnt supported on Express and Express doesnt do mirroring. For the life of me, I can find a device that allows mirroring of an Android tablet over the network. I am going into development. Anyone want to invest?

Just set one up and it is killer. Scary easy and powerful.
The new headend for a bachelor pad will soon be a cable box, slingbox, solid network, and amp with tv, speakers, and Apple tv in each room.
Get your networking skills up.
