I don't mind the FF's but Jeff Tweedy (Wilco) has more talent in the tip of his pinky finger than Dave Grohl has coursing through his entire body...but of course Wilco won't pander to the industry.
The Grammys are typically a joke and usually the one that deserves the awards doesn't get the nod. I was actually surprised that Wilco was even nominated. FP Crazy, you are certainly living up to your handle. Wilco and the Foo look to me to be two un-comparable bands, judging off their finished products. Apparently I am not enough of a hippie to have cought on to Wilco so I YouTubed about four songs. After waking up, they appear to me to be some sort of love child band from the spawn of Tom Petty and the Grateful Dead. Foo Fighters rock, they are "the last great rock band", not dubbed by me, the creativity on videos, side projects....Many in the music industry would compare Dave Grohl's pinky to others who can't come close.

But seriously , your among friends, how do you really feel? That should be "you're".... Well, she is in a class all by herself. Although Bieber could give her a run for the no talent title. Let either one sing without a microphone and mixing board to make them sound even halfway decent and the career would be over....

Must be in love with hers looks.
It certainly can't be her monotone, no talent, attempt at singing.... i just love that my daughter has someone to look up to that doesnt strip on stage, post videos of smoking synthetic weed, on the cover of magazines leaving nothing to the imagination, etc. it is definitely not her vocal talent!!!

You know I wasn't a big Foo Fighters fan. I didn't dislike them but I never really listened to their music to develop a liking for them, either. I have to say after listening to them play live on the Grammy's I was impressed by their talent. I was listening and watching them on TV and I was blown away by the drummer in the band. I think I might have to download a couple of their songs :) I am a fan of theirs. Of course a lot of their songs folow the same pattern, but songs like Everlong, are pretty amazing. I wish they'd do an acoustic album. I bumped into Dave Grohl at a Jiffy Lube waiting room years ago... I knew who he was but was afaraid to hassle him... I just gave him the "Hey! I know who you are nod, but I wont ask for your autograph nod"!!! Glad they are getting their due recognition.

Grohl is not only a good guitarist, but was / is a fun drummer to watch.

Unless I missed it, Lady G got all dressed up just to sit in the seats and watch everyone else perform and win. Love it. must suck to look like an idiot all night and then not get to be apart of anything.

Wilco and the Foo look to me to be two un-comparable bands, judging off their finished products. Apparently I am not enough of a hippie to have cought on to Wilco so I YouTubed about four songs. That assessment is most telling. And that you've never heard of Wilco speaks volumes for your taste and knowledge of music. Again, nothing wrong with FF, but I just don't find them very interesting, original or inventive. OTOH, I think that Wilco is all of that... and much - more and probably one of the best working bands in the country. Tweedy's volume of work dates back to Uncle Tupelo in the early 90s and his catalog is deep and diverse. A master songcraftsman with a great nose for interesting arrangements. He has not put out a bad album in the the 18 years. His song contributions with collaboration stints with Golden Smog and Bill Bragg (Woodie Guthrie/Mermaid Avenue sessions) are tasty too. I'm not sure what you mean by hippie, but if you walk on any major college campus and ask who is better, Wilco or FF, the response is likely to be "Foo Who?" There's no use in debating with someone who has never even heard of them, as if you had that type of intelligent taste in music, you would have already heard of them. No shame in that, but I'm not alone in feeling that Tweedy is for the thinking man...and FF.... uhmmm, not so much. I'm sure the likes of Umphrey's McGee, Lotus, Disco Biscuits, moe. or The Steve Kimmock Band sail over your head at warp speed also. But the real story is that Wilco even got nominated for a Grammy (for best Rock album of the Year). I think the new album The Whole Love is probably the best thing he's ever done and that is saying a lot. Most of my fellow Wilco fans disagree with my feelings about the new album though (they all like it a lot but don't feel it's his best). The fact that he can put out such a strong album (18 years after starting Wilco) means he has not lost his muse. Your mileage obviously varies. Keep enjoying the paint by numbers FF and I'm glad you like them. Viva la différence .

We develop a tv show with "old school" rock legends like The Who, CSNY, Paul McCartney, metallica, the stones, lemmy from motorhead, and we even throw in some contemporary guys like grohl, vedder, and Chris Cornell, and we make real rock bands again. It'll be like a cross between american idol and celebrity rehab. The tv audience will get to vote for the musicians who try out for the band. Once we get the band members, we assign them to one of the legendary rock stars who teach them how to be rock stars. Properly. Someone get me a phone number pronto!
