I have a Russound C3 system that I am trying to update the firmware on and can't seem to get all the way through the update without it timing out. It seems that I had seen something here about someone having the same issue but can't find it now through a search.
I am running Win7 64 and hooked up via USB->Serial cable. Russound unit is set to controller 1(Not the firmware setting) and everything is disconnected from the unit. What am I missing?
Current firmware version is 02.00.04

What USB to serial are you using?
I tried the recommended Radio shack and bricked the C3. Later I tried the not recommended tripplite and it worked great.

Might have been me with a MCA-C5 (which ultimately bricked).
Try a different laptop.

I finally got it worked out. I had to run the update 3 times on an XP machine and it finally took.
