I have a local store selling the MX-900 for $170. This store is also an authorized dealer. Anyone have this remote and like it, even for that price?

Is that not a fair price?

This is a very popular URC remote.

I've sold a bunch of them and use one myself. That's much less than I pay for them as a dealer.

What a sweet deal.

I use one in my bedroom and the battery life is my only complaint (uses AAA). Buying rechargable AAA batteries for this remote is a good idea.

That's not what I call good battery life, especially when you consider the remote uses four batteries!

Attention folks: You need to read the stupid directions and set the "LCD CONT" to off . This will allow the LCD itself (not the backlight) to time out after a time of your choosing. The remote will wake up with the next button press.

Battery life= good. Same on the kp900.

I've sold tons of these remotes, and use some in my own system.

Battery life has never been a problem. It's MONTHS of use.

Turn off the "beep", turn down the contrast, turn down the display time.

I think this pricing is due to the latest silly move by URC. Gotta make those numbers to get those discounts...

Check with your distributors.
I'm Not an engineer, but I play one on TV.
My handle is Tweety but I have nothing to do with the organization of similar name. I just had a really big head as a child so folks called me tweety bird.

The "fair price", imo, is msrp. That my friend is a bargain. Maybe they overstocked or just need to move inventory.

Great remote but it is a Pro model that requires the programming software that is only supported to dealers. So make sure you get the software from the store AND make sure they will support you with learning to program the remote.

OR, safe yourself the weekend and pony up a couple hundred bucks and just get it programmed for you. Overall, you're still paying less than the MSRP of the remote normally.

They aren't selling it for $170.00. You may get the "Oh...we meant the MX780 or MX450". Businesses typically sell products above cost rather than below cost.
See our Youtube page for info about smart homes, great audio and more.
