Has anyone else come across audio issues recently with DirecTV? Specifically I have one client (HR24) whose audio sounds muffled and almost robotic, like digital breakup. It occurs on random channels but on other channels it'll be fine. Switch back to the problem channel, still messed up. Only happens intermittently.

I thought it would be a box problem but I had exactly the same issue about two weeks ago (HR25). Seems to only happen on live tv, not recorded. I don't think it's an audio codec problem as the audio breakup I noticed was on a movie that I'd been watching earlier and had been fine.

I've read others have had similar issues on other websites but no resolution.

What type of digital audio connection do you have going into the pre/pro?

We had that symptom before with DTV and toslink. Swapped cable same problem. Switched to coax, did a full box reset, checked settings were correct for Dolby digital in the sat box and made sure pre/pro was setup properly for that input and surround parameter...no more problem. That's all I have. Good luck.

DTV... Slowly becoming just as annoying as the cable company and their garbage boxes.

No it's coax at the client's home and at my house it's hdmi.

Signal strength is good.

I watched a movie I had recorded the other night and about a third of the way through it, the audio started to break up. It also had an echo-like sound to it (no muffle though). It lasted 20-30 minutes and then went away. I haven't seen anything like it before or since.

I'd give you the model number but I can't remember off hand...sorry.
