"The cable box video out right now runs to the arcam video in The arcam video out runs to the processor. I must be misunderstanding you because if I unplug the arcam video out and run the cable to the video box then the signal gets interupted. Can you say this differently"

unplug the cablebox video out cables

The origin of the signal is the cable box the signal is moving from cable box to cable

unplug the arcam video out cables from the arcam

The video out cables from the arcam are presently sending signal to projector

, plug those cables to the video out of the cablebox. see if you get flickering.

If I plug the video out from the arcam into the cable box then essentially I will be sending the signal that the arcam is putting out to the cable box instead of the projector. Then where does the projector get its signal from?

read what i wrote carefully. follow each step in order.

i wrote "unplug the arcam video out from the arcam" i didn't write, unplug the arcam video out from the video processor.

connect the cablebox directly to the video processor.

comcast to box, box to avr, avr to processor, processor to projector.

What path are you suggesting?

Oh I see you meant avr cable out (thought you mean avr jack out). Anyway I did what you said (good idea). This eliminates the avr because it flicker still. In fact more so. I am betting on a crappy cable box. It is the explorer 8300 hd

Again, do you have another cable box in the house you can swap to test?

If you are not having problems with the box at 720P but have problems at 1080i, it is most likely a cable problem. The cable is not capable of handling the bandwidth. Use a restorer by Ethereal or Spectrum electronics. You could also try a balun or possibly a better cable, one that is DPL approved for that length.

Its an RS232 cable between processor HQV and 1080p epson projector. But I am not sure it is a band width issue because it is fine on bluray and the issue started recently after working fine.

This is like trying to help a deaf, blind, mute. Seriously. I'd ask if you have a cable box to swap out, but something tells me you will just ignore the question. Perhaps because you already have? A couple times.
