Have you guys used any keypad membrane repair kits that you have been happy with?
I have few items that need repair.
  • 3 Russound Uno2 keypads that Russound replaced, but client called about another 2 that are acting up.
I'm sure I can get more from Russound, but for how long?
  • HAI custom engraved scene controller. Called Charlie in RA dept. several times. He doesn't know of repair process, and they don't really warranty the membranes.

I did a search here and came up with few older threads. One post listed this product that's also avail from local electronic repair supply house (~$17) that I want to try if any of you have tried and it worked for you:

What prompted this thought is an email I just got from MCM Electronics for this: Caikot Conductive Coating, Key Pad Repair Kit, 1g.

So, anyone ever used anything like those or other products to re-coat membranes of remotes, keypads, etc?
Did it work out for you?
Did you have to go back in short time to replace the item anyway?

I used to have a repair technician that would paint conductive coating on the backs of the membranes when necessary. If bad contacts are the cause of the symptom, that should solve it.

Probably worth a try one time.

But I find it almost comical that the shipping charge is nearly the same as the cost of the item itself.

no cost shipping for me and 9.95.
I may be schizophrenic, but at least I have each other.
