We have an application where a 55" samy LED will be installed in the back of a piece of cabinetry (secured to floor and wall) The customer wants the tv to go as high as possible.

The lift we are used to is the Chief cm2l40 which gives about 40" of travel. Anybody know of one that goes higher?

I'm not too worried about it being top heavy etc as the cabinet will be secured to the wall.

My handle is Tweety but I have nothing to do with the organization of similar name. I just had a really big head as a child so folks called me tweety bird.

There needs to be more information. How much room do you have to work with?

If you have a rack and pinion lift like Auton typically uses, you need TV height + the rack and pinion height. You can't travel more than the height of the TV. When installed right they are pretty reliable but a little noisy.

You could consider Activated Design. They have a much quieter piston lift that can reside behind the TV and attach to the back of the TV. Sorta like the CM2L40, but with a lot more travel, and a lot quieter. Almost twice as much too.

How silent is it? It's called the Ultra Silent but it is still a rack and pinion design. The have no specs for dB level of noise.

Plus it doesn't travel enough.

Custom size, no problem- the motor barely whispers and in a cabinet it's silent.

http://www.tvlift.com/ !?? New to me- interesting though.

About 10 years ago we put a Loewe plasma ~50" that had to take the crown for the heaviest, and deepest "flat panel" on earth onto an Inca lift. It was built into a (ack)tall and free-standing cabinet. The lift worked well then and still does, sadly the TV does too. Since then, I strayed twice on projects- once with a 60" Sammy LED on a builder supplied Auton lift w/ high dB's and again with an OmniMount motorized art. arm coupled w/ a 55" Sammy LED. Here I got lucky- when the mount shifted the panel hard left b/f extending it did not hit the pocket door (BONUS)!

If I had my druthers, it would be Chief and Inca all day every day. Oh, and a bunch of Peerless SUF's...

Yes, I found a Nexus 21 lift with 58" extension. That's what's spec'd at the moment

I had problems with a couple Auton lifts 4yrs ago. They were loud and stopped turning right. Auton tried to claim that I had too much weight in them and didn't want to warranty the second set that they sent out. I literally had 7 lifts go bad in 5 months. I was "lucky" enough to talk the client into leaving them down all the time.
Who says you can't put 61" plasmas up on cantilever mounts using toggle bolts? <---Thanks Ernie ;)
