does anyone here know the best way to format a hard drive for generic storage use?
i have a 300GB SATA drive that i got out of an old laptop. i bought a SATA to USB adapter to get some old data off of it. it worked flawlessly and immediately showed up as a USB Mass Storage device. It got me thinking that i would sure be nice to use this as a backup drive for various items. it is free to me and why not?
how do i go about wiping it clean and formatting for general storage use?

Why not DOS format c: /s/u j/k.
"Who is General Failure and why is he reading my drive C:?"
You had to be there.
