Haven't used Log-me-in Free for a while, but need a way to log in to my in-laws Win 7 HP computer with my Win 7 computer and access the local router that the nerd/geek squad reset. I can't access the DVR anymore due to ports closed. (400 mile trip one way) I don't think that the built-in Windows Home Premium remote desktop can do this.

My mother in-law asked him as he was leaving if the DVR will still work...he said no problem...he's thinking it's a Comcast DVR. I guess she had a issue with not getting her Hotmail, everything else seemed to work. This is what happens when they don't think to call you. I'm sure we have all been there, the f'n cable guy, phone guy, pool guy, landscape guy are all experts.

Is there a free product that you folks use consistently with good results, or maybe a low cost option?

Mind of I ask why a list of ports wasn't left onsite?

I have had the same problem with a customer's setup because the guy who has been doing their general computer setup didn't bother to look. I noticed that their Request server hadn't updated in about a day, so I called the customer to ask if they had a new router. If he does this now, it means I have to set up the router for that server AND a security camera DVR and I already told him that he needs to save the settings or he'll be the reason the customer will be billed for additional setup.

Your in-law needs to call idiot squad and complain.

Make THEM fix what THEY messed up.

Hopefully it'll take them hours and hours of non-billable time..... :-)

My brother does IT in LA and set me up with Team Viewer. I like it.

For the guys that use Log Me In: I had tried that once about a year or so ago...the connection and overall use to me was very slow, to the point it was extremely annoying, so I went back to go to my pc....
I would actually like to use log me in, so my question is have you guys and issues with that, or any other issues to be aware of?
The pricing is better for Log me in.....
Thanks
