Agree 100%. For the record i am not calling out one person and like i said... all of us know what business has been like the last few years.
Again and for the record i wasn't agreeing with the "pay him a visit" sentiment because i didn't take it as a serious comment.
But that doesn't change the fact that there are dealers who sent payment and received nothing. Those are the guys our sympathy should be directed towards. Greg and I among others mentioned this earlier before the "visit" comments came up.

Greg and I among others mentioned this earlier before the "visit" comments came up. I saw that. I only responded when TreeDee quoted rick and said "seriously rick?" I assumed he was telling rick not to publicly discuss the situation on an open forum. I assumed incorrectly because the "mafia" comment didn't even register until i read the responses from you guys about it.

Rick being Rick should be done in private, no?? Especially hypocritical coming from the man who made a complete spectacle of himself and aired his dirty laundry in public just a couple months ago. As for the track suit comments. I was saying that you NEED to hear from them to learn their intentions. If they will not answer the phone, go see them. The 'associates' comments were definitely tongue in cheek. I have had to go sit down and have that uncomfortable conversation with dealers who owed money as well as with builders and clients who owed money. It's part of being a businessman. If you wait for the courts to settle things, it will not work out well for you. Like Judge Smails says in Caddyshack, "you'll get nothing and like it". They always seem to award the utility companies and landlords their money first, and then the industry people get to fight over the scraps. The thing is, the landlord and the guy at the electric company aren't going to help you out when you make that attempt to get back into the industry because you stood up and did the right thing.... but your dealers, distros, and reps will.

I shared that I sold a product and was not paid for that product in a buyer and seller feedback thread Rick. Why did you guys create that forum then?? To share or warn other to do or not do business with certain people. Nowhere was any threat to do physical harm to any party stated in public. Whether the feelings were there or not...

Would have been nice to see a post from Pantel or someone else who knew this fact. My post was directly pointed at the "calling out" of the manufacturer who took off with dealer money and never bothered to tell anyone about it. "Joe" doesn't get a pass just because he has an account here. did i miss something? im not sure i read that anybody here paid him money and didnt receive product.

Stamp why would Pantel make a public post? Usually in litigation, you are told by your attorney to keep your mouth shut. For the few that are owed money, all they can do at this point is contact the court and add themselves as a creditor. You may, or may not get something back. true but, once filed you can certainly release a statement letting people know you are filing due to economic conditions and thanks for all of your support through the years and sorry for any inconveniences.

No one HERE has directly said that they were affected but this post is what started the (in my mind) "uh oh they are out of business leaving dealers in the lurch" thinking. We're listed as a dealer on their website.... We've gotten a couple calls from people (totally unrelated to us) asking if we know of any status on Pantel as they are not getting calls back or product they are owed (already paid for.) Apparently there are a bunch of people out there who are REALLY ticked off at Pantel right now.
really a bummer since they've been a great company to work with.

When a company I had worked for went bankrupt, I was retained by the bankruptcy attorney to manage lots of details, since I was the one with all the keys to everything at all ten stores.
I mention this only to tell you I could be in a place to hear one of the attorneys say that, after everything was sold, there was enough money left to do a partial distribution of funds to the unsecured creditors (IIRC), but the attorneys decided to delay and just keep charging their monthly fees... "spending down" was the phrase they used... until there was not enough money to make distribution worthwhile. That was easier than putting together a distribution to a couple hundred folks.

That happened years ago when my boss passed away. Her lawyers milked the estate for as much as he could. That limited the funds available for a scholarship fund she had set up in her husbands name. She had owned some prime real estate in Chicago on La Salle St just north of Chicago Ave. Those familiar with the area know how valuable that land is.

that sounds rather unethical and Greedy. You mean it sounds like "typical lawyer"? And regards the post by Rick? Did you guys not notice the first word? IF.... No threat at all. It was purely hypothetical. IF I would have been told that my $30k payment was absorbed, etc, etc, etc.
