Why are other dealers contacting this guy?

That's a really good questions and i don't think Rick is out of line with his post. Why aren't they responding to their dealers?

Obviously i am assuming they aren't responding to their dealers. I base my assumption on the fact that their dealers are contacting other dealers claiming they are not getting product or a response from the manufacturer.

This forum post could be the only thing stopping some poor dealer from placing and paying for an order that isn't ever going to be shipped.

They aren't responding because they are bankrupt, this is FACT. But threatening to harm the guy on a public forum gets you what? Clients stiff us all the time. Do we threaten to go kick the shit out of them too?

If its going down the way we all think it is, then offer the man some support for gods sake.

He may be in a court ordered situation and cannot respond to you even if he wanted to.

Maybe he wants to do the right thing and can't, have you considered that.

Shit is tough all over right now for a lot of people and they are finding them selves in situations they do not know how to deal with.

If he is taking the money and running, he wont get far.

Judging by his participation here I do not take him for that type.

Cut the man some slack till you know the facts, then persue the leagl route if needed after that.

His market is a niche market within a niche market, shit like this will affect the smaller niches first.

You think threatening violence on a public forum is ok??

No. I took that as Rick being Rick and not as a real threat.

Rick seems to frequently make physical threats in public places though. Rick being Rick should be done in private, no??

Would have been nice to see a post from Pantel or someone else who knew this fact. My post was directly pointed at the "calling out" of the manufacturer who took off with dealer money and never bothered to tell anyone about it. "Joe" doesn't get a pass just because he has an account here.

As i stated above in response to Roddy... Obviously... i wasn't agreeing with the "pay him a visit" sentiment that Rick posted. I personally didnt take it as a threat. Its like when you say "i wanna kill him" when you really just mean "i am upset with him".

As a matter a fact last year there was a thread where i was the "Crazy" one when i said to let lawyers handle it and everyone else said they would go to the guys house. I know that if some hot headed idiot came to my house after calling up yelling at my wife i might be inclined to shoot him whether i owed him money or not. And then his kin would come after me and the fued would start and... that hillbilly nonsense is why we have police and lawyers.

Thats his prerogative. I personally don't think Rick is going to get in his car and drive to California to pay Joe a visit so it didn't even register with me. I paid attention to the "normal" part of his post where he called a manufacturer out for taking off with peoples money.

Stamp why would Pantel make a public post? Usually in litigation, you are told by your attorney to keep your mouth shut. For the few that are owed money, all they can do at this point is contact the court and add themselves as a creditor. You may, or may not get something back.

Idk I don't have skin in this game. But I'd say cut joe some slack. He won't be the first or last manufacturer to go under in this economy...

How quick some of you are to throw him under the bus...
Ed will be known as the Tiger Woods of the integration business, followed closely with the renaming of his company to "Hotties A/V". The tag line will be "We like big racks and tight holes"...

I don't expect him to make a public post while in litigation. I expect him not to accept payment for products he doesn't have the ability to deliver. Doesn't look like that is going to happen now. Him posting to say "hey, i'm out of business" here or at his own website would be nice but IMO too little too late.

My point exactly, the table may turn on one of us one day.

Stamp, that might be out of his control, maybe not, but it might be.

Joe knows a lot of people in this industry on a personal level, I think he is being told what to do by people with a lot more power than he has.

I hope it works out for the best for him and those that he owes, the only thing anybody can do is get on the list and wait for the outcome.

Wish him luck and do not be on his nasty list when the time comes for settlement.

If he is being a turd, then he will not get far.

Mike

I dont think we need to worry about that. For the last couple of months the only person we were able to reach was the warehouse guy. I shot you a PM. Check it when you get a chance.

And when those tables do turn... don't cash your clients checks unless you know you can deliver what they are paying for.

I dont think HE did, I also think when the time comes you will get a very profound apology from Joe with full explanation.

Lets hope that it was not Joe cashing those checks personally, he is head of a corporation and others generally do this.

Agree 100%. For the record i am not calling out one person and like i said... all of us know what business has been like the last few years.

Again and for the record i wasn't agreeing with the "pay him a visit" sentiment because i didn't take it as a serious comment.

But that doesn't change the fact that there are dealers who sent payment and received nothing. Those are the guys our sympathy should be directed towards.
