The internet, I'll just bet. Though I couldn't find anything on them there. How much will you guys pay me to drive over there and ask them? I will put up 50 cents for you to drive over there. I can look up my records and get his home address, maybe that will be worth a dollar. And yes, I have been to his home...

Damn, dodged a bullet there. Had a client who wanted a 65" they claimed to have in stock. Was just a little too much for his outdoor tv, so he went for a 52" Runco instead. This was during CEDIA. If I would have gotten screwed on a 30K TV, I'd be selling pencils in the Home Depot parking lot!

This kind of stuff is very troubling. A huge hit like this on a smaller dealer could take them out.

I'm surprised Julie has not jumped on this.
I'm beginning to think we need to request quarterly evaluations from our equipment manufacturers. BP is right. This could really hurt some of our friends out there.

Very much so, even though we seem to be making light of the issue. If this would of happened to me this summer I would be living under a bridge right now. There are probably many out there that are not on this or similar forums who are going thru this. I know that the company Carlos is with has deep pockets and will more than likely survive this, but none the less this has to hurt no matter who you are.

If I would have gotten screwed on a 30K TV, I'd be selling pencils in the Home Depot parking lot! Is that what has happened to some dealers?? If I would have been told that my $30k payment was absorbed into the frantic money grab at the wind down of a vendor's business operations, and I was not getting anything in return, I would be showing up on someone's front door with some very bad intentions. Better yet, some associates would be arriving to discuss the matter on my behalf while I was in a very public location with numerous people who could verify my location. Joe, I will assume you will see this at some point... Do the right thing.

We're listed as a dealer on their website.... We've gotten a couple calls from people (totally unrelated to us) asking if we know of any status on Pantel as they are not getting calls back or product they are owed (already paid for.) Apparently there are a bunch of people out there who are REALLY ticked off at Pantel right now.
really a bummer since they've been a great company to work with. ^^^ Why are other dealers contacting this guy? That's a really good questions and i don't think Rick is out of line with his post. Why aren't they responding to their dealers? Obviously i am assuming they aren't responding to their dealers. I base my assumption on the fact that their dealers are contacting other dealers claiming they are not getting product or a response from the manufacturer. This forum post could be the only thing stopping some poor dealer from placing and paying for an order that isn't ever going to be shipped.

This forum post could be the only thing stopping some poor dealer from placing and paying for an order that isn't ever going to be shipped. You think threatening violence on a public forum is ok?? I can see why people would be trying to get a hold of anyone who answers their phone listed on the site.
