Show me two white guys doing crappy installs with a poorly written craiglist ad and I would ask the same thing, "where are the ear rings" or "honey, hide the kids!" There would not have been one single racist accusation. Show the same pic with NO people in it, same comment, where are the ear rings. If its racist, its because people made it racist.

Craiglist can be a source of evil. It happens. Color is irrelevant. People only look to make things about race.

You are racist.  You didn't comment on their sloppy installation.  Your comment stated that they stole the customers earrings.   

Here's your thought process:
1. They do bad installations.
2. They're black.
3. They're bad at spelling.

They must be thieves.

If you don't see the racism in that, you're just too far gone.  On top of that, you flat out admitted that it was a racist comment in your second post.  But when somebody (BigPapa) called you out on it, now you go on the defensive?You're the one who turned it to race, nobody else.  It was you.

When i read your post i didn't think "racist". It didn't even occur to me that it might be considered racist. My mind went straight to "craigslist scammer" "white van speakers" "storm damage repair". The scummy types we yell "get a real job" to when we see them.

In my area they are all meth'd out looking white guys. They have slender faces with sores all over. Whenever i see one of these zombies i think to myself "meth head". I guess its possible that there are thin white people who have sores on their faces that aren't meth heads but for some reason my mind goes straight to "meth head". Its not because they are white... its because they look like zombies. They just happen to be white. Because of this i "get" why you would think "criminal" when you see craigslist installers standing next to crappy installations. Not because their black but because they are the typical hang and bang craigslist guys that we all make fun of.

The installs in those photos are ridiculous but both of the installers were dressed fine and standing proudly near their work. The one guy appears to have a company shirt on and the other guy is wearing the typical "trade" dickies outfit. My guess is that this gave me a subconscious sense that the installers were trying to be professional even if i personally didn't consider the work to be professional. The quality of the install is the responsibility of management IMO so installers always get the benefit of the doubt with me since i have walked in their shoes.

I don't know you personally but i haven't read anything else from you that makes me think your a racist. After reading the comments about your post i can now see why someone might consider it to be racist. Maybe if you were one of those guys that refers to the president as "barry hussien obama" or "wants to see his birth certificate!!!" i might agree with them. You followed up saying you didn't "mean it that way" so as far as im concerned the issue is squashed.

This is yet another example of exacty what I was referring to. There will always be those that turn EVERYTHING into a race issue. If black is involved and it is not 100% good, its racism. You keep doing it. YOUR interpretation turned it to race. Stop.

Im not defending anything other than there are always those that find a way to interpret anything as being racist. I laugh with my black friends who see the same thing. Odd though, they think Im a funny "cracker." Ya, they said it. I was in no way shape or form offended. Should I have been?

If the site was used more I would spend more time on it. In the small markets we are in, its rarely visited. Of course, I could develop a marketing plan that would get it more use but not ready to put that time and effort into it as it may not have an ROI.

For the record, I know Tuck, have met him in person, like the hell out of him and don't really think he's a racist. His statement was funny to me because I've seen this Texas cracker, with the thick accent wearing a camo ball cap. Typical picture of a south of the Mason Dixon, good 'ol boy.

Personally, I think it's more racist that people are associating the Cake Boss job to these clowns just because they're black. It screams of the whole, "they all look alike" thing.

This is funny, I showed a friend this thread and he laughed because he thought the earring comment was that the husband sold the earrings to pay for a new tv and installation.

Trying to assume judgment from simply reading a quick post or two is really the wrong thing to do. I apologize for reading into that way. It was really the Cake boss portion that spurred that response.

I agree their work is far below sub par. Its funny their website shows normal.I.stalls and the craigslisting shows wire molding. They must know their target market. Kudos to them.

The comments about the ear rings could easily be spun both ways. The fact was the dudes in the photos just happen to be black. That's why the rant started.
