Someone in the industry mentioned that an existing company, currently not marketing an automation system, is about to announce an impressive IP based system. He was sworn to secrecy but we should hear about it at CEDIA. Anyone have a clue?

Good chance he was talking about SpeakerCraft's NIRV system, right now I would be calling it nervous with all the delays.

I've been in the industry for 20 years. If I had a Dime for every time something "Revolutionary" was about to come out, I would of been able to retire long ago.

I just cant get excited anymore until I have something in my hand and it actually works.

Way too many let downs over the years.

I can't get excited until you have something in your hand and it actually works because you, or other "early adopters," have banged their heads against the wall over and over while on hold with the manufacturer, asking for help to make it work, because, after all, you were doing their Beta testing.
A good answer is easier with a clear question giving the make and model of everything.

I'm pretty skeptical about this too but he seemed pretty enthusiastic about it. He said it was one of their existing brands and it would take advantage of controllable LAN connections on today's devices. My guess was Lutron. Speaker craft, not one of their products.

I have heard rumors that Extron was getting into the automation business.

Extron even has a pretty good database for IP control. Most of it is for commercial product. Extron is really not a residential system but it works great for commercial control.

Russound just announced the end of the E series.

Could they be marrying E Series with vNet?
