I need some help. I need a person who is very familiar with Bitwise and Russound C Series (MCA-C5).
I need to control the C Series with the Bitwise system using RS232. I cannot get the devices to comunicate. I've verified with Russound that Pin 5 is ground Pin 3 is Rx and Pin 2 is Tx. I've got the pin out correct.
Neither one of these manufacturers can give me any information that is helpful and I've been dealing with this issue for 2 days.
So, if you've worked with Russound and Bitwise before and would like $100 send me a PM with your phone number. I'll call you. If you can get it tow work I'll send you $100 into your paypal account immediately
If you don't have any experience with Russound/Bitwise please don't attempt.
I need this done tonight.

I think BitWise has a forum, might want to try there.
Wish I could help.

I'm sure you have tried this but does TX correspond to RX? In other words pins 2 and 3 are actually flipped at each end?

Make sure you have the latest firmware for the c5. I cant remember if the c5 is straight through or not but check that as well.
Russounds new stuff has had some major issues being controlled 3rd party (RTI in my case).
Also watch out during the firmware update it will likely go south on you.

Just to narrow the cause, have you tried communicating with the Russound using a laptop or another device via rs232? Perhaps a defective Russound or Bitwise component?

Have you tried communicating with the Russound from your computer? And checked to make sure the Bitwise is sending commands?

Make sure the C5 is set to the correct protocol in the software . You can choose RIO which is their newer deal or Rnet which is the old tried and true. You can also select baud rates. I have used several devices such as HAI - Casatunes - and RTI to control a C3 and C5 Russound and I think I have had to use Rnet on all but the RTI. I have a Bitwise box but have not messed with it as much as I would like yet Good luck

Adjust the Baud Rate in Russound's configuration and match in Bitwise Project Editor?

We found the issue. The Serial codes do not work. You have to use the script device.
