Did you mean 39Cent Stamp, or me?

Oh no, Ernie definitely NOT YOU!...I couldn't think of anything more enjoyable than talking about air and having my grammar corrected when I've got 8 Jack and Cokes in me. :)

At least if you were talking to him he couldn't correct your spelling.
Who says you can't put 61" plasmas up on cantilever mounts using toggle bolts? <---Thanks Ernie ;)

More to the point, if Mr. Stanley drills a hole and shuts down a high-rise building and an entire city block, but we don't hear about it, do we laugh anyway?

Yes!

Ernie,
The decrease in sound pressure will result in second harmonic distortion. It is very common in compression drivers and magnitude can be easily calculated knowing diaphragm area, throat diameter and acoustic power. It will also be magnified by the horn used in the application.

DOES TYPING IN CAPS CHANGE THE RELATIVE AIR PRESSURE?
There is no truth anymore. Only assertions. The internet world has no interest in truth, only vindication for preconceived assumptions.

The most significant factor often overlooked is our individual Cranial Resonances.

I don't know, but typing in a bowler results in text with a British accent.

And the caps definitely increase my brain pressure. It's unbelievable -- I've been trained to flinch when I read CAPS because it represents shouting! Damn!

I'm surprised that I didn't realize how much fun you guys would make this topic when I thought of it. Thanks.
A good answer is easier with a clear question giving the make and model of everything.

Not your original question but might be bizarre enough: the resonant frequency of a certain female body part is 32-34hz depending on body weight. I was told this and thought it to be bs but I tested and verified with my sencore sp295 as a generator connected to a triad bronze in room sub. It's fun to know a little bit about acoustics.

Doesn't this fall into the same category as other myths like the "brown sound"

Very interesting subject.
I have a client who entertains in her beautiful mountainside home and conversations at normal level can be heard clearly from the road 1/2 mile away.

She no longer has amplified bands and still gets shut down with acoustic bands.
We are trying to find a way to deaden the sound around the property without doing too much damage to her 4.7 million dollar landscape.

From reading the comments in this thread I conclude that it must be possible to deaden acoustics in open air. Has anyone heard of this being done?

I don't have a thunderscreech to test that with but I did have an sp295 and a reluctant wife( saying the whole time "this is so stupid and will never work"). Started at 50hz and started going down 1 hz at a time. As soon as I got to 33hz she freaked out and jumped off the sub and said "ok your sound stuff isn't so dumb after all". Not to get too graphic but she said IT buzzed. That would have been a cool mythbusters episode.
