I've got a question for you guys.  I can't believe I don't know this, but I just never run across the request.   We rarely run across Sirius/Xm requests.  In fact, it's been years since I've installed a Sirius radio.

I've got a customer who recently took a lightning strike, so we're going in next week to re-work everything.  I met with them today, and they requested Sirius capability. They're currently subscribers in their vehicles.

Anyhow, my question is this:

Can you write a macro for them on either Onkyo or Denon Networkable receivers? For example:(Net/Preset1 will take you to 70's on 7).

Has anyone had an instance where they controlled Sirius through a Bitwise Control?  I went to the Bitwise forum and searched, I couldn't find any mention of Sirius anywhere.

What I'd like to do is, fill the screen on the Ipad with the channel icons, customer presses button for channel.

I wish I had a Network receiver, I wouldn't have to ask this dumbass question.

I have controlled XM hooked up to a Denon AVR4810. That AVR also has a Sirius port so I would assume it would behave the same way.

You can assign the stations to presets (A-G;0-8) and then create buttons on the remote or control system to access those presets.

I have alos played around with URC's 2 way modules with that same XM tuner plugged into the AVR4810 and it worked reasonably well. 2 way feed back and the ability to access stations. It was buggy but I think that was because the URC 2 Way modules are buggy. My impression is that the Denon was reasonably good at giving 2 way IP feedback and control (but only one socket on the Denon AVRs).

I don't know much about BitWise, but I think you could probably get ti to work (2 way over IP or RS232) if you knew the control system and could program and write code. The communication protocol exists for the Denon at least, and I suspect Onkyo/Integra would be the same.
Chasing Ernie's post count, one useless post at a time.
